Vinnie Banton has this romantic single out. He seems to suggest that the way to a woman’s heart is accepting her as she is, and having her do things her way. I doubt that this is will fly with most African men, but it certainly is what many women want to hear. Keep it up Banton, this ones a hit.

TULIZA VIPI?

Willywhizz has this video online that in my own opinion is pedestrian. The artist has something to say, but he says it in no way that is different from what we have seen before. The production value of his video is basic. And the people in the video, especially the ladies don’t seem to want to be there.

It is said that imitation is the greatest form of flattery so Dallas based Kenyan artist QStick decided to do a remix to Nonini’s hit “Si Lazima.”

QStick’s remix is titled “Ni Lazima.” I am all for supporting upcoming artists. So listen to this video coz for some reason QStick was not able to post the video aspect of it.

On the social commentary side of genge music, the artist Jimw@t raps about corruption in the Kenyan police force and society as a whole. The title of the rap defiantly states that he will not bribe.

This Kenyan based artist and star of the film “Hip Hop Colony” has produced this catchy video. I am very impressed by his ingenuity and creativity. He has been able to make low budget music videos with high quality soundtracks. The R&B singer’s voice in this video somehow reminded me of the R&B artist Joe. Ama it’s just me?

Sometimes a video comes my way and reminds me that we the “genge generation” have a conscience and a heart. This video was made in response to the the passing away of a loved one. Sammy Lee Kalio, TraceMo and Kambua remind us that life is short and that we can use whatever talents to positively change, educate and influence others.

What can I say about this song? It really speaks for itself. Like most “bling bling” gangsta rappers, Prezzo never minces his words nor does he speak in parables. He always gets to the point.

So, what’s outsourcing anyway? My friend Webster defines it as; to procure (as some goods or services needed by a business or organization) under contract with an outside supplier

Before I say what I really think of this outsourcing womb business, I wanted to give you the reader, full disclosure:

I am in the process of having a website made through outsourcing that will enable people to pick out images of things in nature that look like letters, and put them together to form a word. Below is an example:

That said, I guess it would be hypocritical of me to say that outsourcing is a sin.

So my thought on outsourcing wombs is why not? Personally, I wouldn’t do it but then again I wouldn’t discourage someone from doing it. If push came to shove and I was left with no choice but to outsource a womb I would outsource the womb to someone I know, instead of Aishwarya who lives all the way in Mumbai simply coz I really don’t know whether Aishwarya is really taking care of herself and in turn taking care of my baby. And what if the baby is born with defects? Will Aishwarya be held responsible?

Generally women with kids in their wombs take good care of themselves and so I dedicate this songs to every woman who has ever had a bun in their oven and also to those who one day will. Enjoy!

But in my book he is a man whom we all need to learn from. In 1519, Cortés left the island of Cuba in search of Gold and Riches. Many had gone before him with similar dreams and had not succeeded, but Cortés was determined to go back to Cuba rich.

When Hernando Cortés landed on the South American coast he ordered his men to burn all the boats they had used to sail there from Cuba. Cortés eye was on the wealth of the Aztecs and nothing was going to stop him. After the boats were burnt there was no looking back. In the end, he attained his goal.

What is it that you want to be.

What thing have you wanted to accomplish?

What are you willing to do to make your dream’s come true?

Are you willing to look into your life and decide to take that daring step to burn your boat so that you will have no choice but to attain your goal?

As a child I remember that whenever I got home from school at the end of my school year, I would hand my report form to my father who would always glance at it and say, “Son, there is always room for improvement.”

I urge you to step back, and look at what you have or have not achieved then realize that there is always room for improvement.

Have you noticed that many people who are in the limelight seem so multi talented and innovative. Look at TD Jakes, Oprah, Clint Eastwood, and even Tupac (the guy is still releasing CD’s years after his death!) So what makes these people able to do so much?

If you actively use what you are good at, you will eventually develop other talents. It sounds simple but it is so true, I call it the Matt 25 rule. Some of you are thinking. “I am without any talent. I don’t even have a single passion or for that matter a talent.” Lucky for you I have three suggestions which will help you on your way to finding your passion

Your Innner Child
This does not mean that you are pregnant. This only means that most children seem so full of talent and potential. You were no exception. What were you good at doing when you were young? What did you wanna be when you grew up. Grab a paper and a pen, and jolt them down! You may be surprised by the countless dreams that have fallen by the wayside.

Ask
Ask your friends, family, kids, dogs, fish and just about everyone you know what they think you are good at. But be careful not everyone thinks that you are good for something.

Experiment
Take that step of faith and grab an instrument, start a blog, write that story, sing that song, start that business, change your career…. just do something! If it doesn’t work, try something else.

So there you have it! 3 steps to lead you in the right direction.
